Palkonya is a one-street village at the northeastern end of the Villány Mountains, which is still faithfully preserved from the 18th century with a heritage of architectural culture of German viticulturists. The most famous monument complex of the village is the cellar row of 53 press houses covering the hillside of the village, as well as the St. Elizabeth’s Church with the emblematic onion-formed red dome.
